There are things in life that suck. This list is not of things that suck, it's of things that are awesome. My job ; pursuant thereof, San Francisco , and regular trips thereto (next one in December); additionally, the stupidly weak US dollar Apple Mac OS X 10.5 "Leopard" Beechams Flu Plus caplets The Crystal […]
Sky, in their infinite wisdom, have rolled out an update to Sky+ boxes to put them into standby mode automatically if they aren't "used" (Sky's term is "no activity", i.e. pushing a button on the remote) for two hours between 11pm and 4am. This is all in the name of saving electricity, lowering carbon footprints, […]
Yes, I'm in Rant mode again; just sent this to PC Pro magazine: To: letters@pcpro.co.uk From: neuro@well.com Subject: Wishlist Hi PC Pro Letters, I was pretty disgusted to note the completely haphazard manner in which David Fearon researched and documented Ubuntu Linux's "downsides" in your "Who's Killing Windows?" feature (p122, issue 156). He references the […]
Last year, I thought "how cool would it be to have a Talk Like Yoda Day, you know, like Talk Like a Pirate Day?" I wasn't the first to have the idea — and I certainly won't be the last — but I've finally managed to throw content onto talklikeyoda.com in time for the proposed […]
I like to blog, but I've been remiss in posting. So what better time than the end of the year to post what I've been up to. Three tomatoes are walking down the street: a poppa tomato, a momma tomato, and a little baby tomato. Baby tomato starts lagging behind. Poppa tomato gets angry, goes […]

Danish model Maria Gregersen frolics in the rain and spins around in the street to the tune of Tom Jones' 1971 hit "She's a Lady". This is the TV ad for Lacoste 's new fragrance for women: Lacoste Inspiration . Yeah, yeah, I thought as I idly watched, another ad with a bouncy model showing […]
I really can't tell if this is planned, or due to my arsiness, but Sky appear to have stopped playing the minutes-long Phill Jupitus voiceover espousing how great the next Star Wars movie they're showing will be. They're now playing a 20-30 second voiceover by a regular Sky continuity person reminding you a Star Wars […]
Sent to Sky and Phill Jupitus a couple of minutes ago: To: phill.6music@bbc.co.uk, skydigital@bskyb.com Hi Phill / Sky, I'd like to complain about the ridiculous voice overs being used during the credits of movies on Sky Movies. I understand you want to promote the showing of all six Star Wars movies on the Sky movie […]
